Flights at all Greek airports fell by 56.3%, compared to the 2020 season when 22,900 flights had taken place.
An 83% drop in the number of passengers moved to Greek airports last January compared to the corresponding month of 2020 records Civil Aviation Administration statistics.
In particular, 383 463 passengers were transported and 2.25 million passengers were transported at this time last year.
For flights at all airports in the country, they totaled 10,015, 7,448 of which were domestic and 2,567 foreign, falling by 56.3%, compared to the 2020 season when 22,900 flights had taken place.
In particular, for the January 2021 foreign passenger arrivals, we had a 90.3% reduction of 60,018 passengers, compared to January 20 when the foreign arrivals were 617,814 passengers.
The sharp decline was expected, as in January 2020 no restrictive measures were imposed on travel and flights, as the pandemic occurred in Greece at the end of February 2020.
