Kalamata airport is ranked 14th in the ranking for international air arrivals, according to a periodic study by INSETE announced yesterday.
The study presents detailed data on air arrivals in 2023 and 2024 for all airports in the country.
For Kalamata airport, the past year ended with a 20.1% increase in passengers.

Passenger arrivals
The study’s data refers to passenger arrivals from abroad, i.e. including Greek residents returning from their travels. The total number of arrivals in 2024 in Greece reached 29.3 million, an increase of +2.6 million / +9.7% compared to 2023, when 26.7 million passengers were recorded. The UK market remained in first place in terms of international passengers with 5.3 million arrivals, showing a percentage increase (+7.2%) or +351 thousand in absolute terms. Germany remained in second place with 4.8 million passengers, showing the highest growth in absolute terms (+389 thousand +8.8%).

The majority of airports showed growth and international air arrivals at the top five airports accounted for 76% of total international air arrivals in 2024.
Kalamata airport, compared to 2023, gained one position and moved up to 14th place with 155 thousand passengers, recording an increase of +26 thousand passengers / +20.1%.
In particular, in 2023 we had 129,161 passengers, while in 2024 we had 155,184 passengers, recording an increase of 26,023 passengers.
Regional airports recorded 15.8 million international air arrivals in 2024, an increase of +1.0 million/+7.0% compared to 2023. In terms of the main markets in 2024 for regional airports, the UK remains in first place with 4 million passengers, an increase of +338 thousand/+9.1%. Germany follows in second place with 2.9 million passengers, recording an increase of +207 thousand passengers / +7.6%. Italy is in third place with 1.2 million passengers, an increase of +83,000/+7.8%.
